International Day of the Girl

Girl Scouts have celebrated the International Day of the Girl since it's creation in 2011. That year, the United Nations declared Oct. 11 a day to honor all girls and bring awareness to girl progress.

For over a century, Girl Scouts has worked to develop girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place, and to make the world a better place for girls. We're certain that if our founder was with us today, Juliette Gordon Low would be proud of the progress we've made.

This Oct. 11, celebrate all the progress we've made by learning and repeating a few inspiring quotes from our founder. Learn them. Live them. Love them.
