Thank You Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District!

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council wants to give a big thanks to Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District for helping create a new trail at Camp Wind-A-Mere. Working with Randy Davis, GSSJC property manager, they helped us put in new drainage pipes to drain some of the areas that mosquitos and pesky animals like to hide. By doing this, they made an uninterrupted trail on both sides of Dickinson Bayou that runs through the center of the camp.

Thank you GCCDD and Randy Davis. Now girl scouts will have a new trail to enjoy as they spend time outdoors learning about environmental stewardship, exploring nature and building positive peer relationships.
Camp Wind-A-Mere, near Alvin, offers campers a variety of opportunities including hiking, playing games and bridges perfect for Scout’s Own or bridging ceremonies. Accommodations include platform tents and tee pees. The camp is also home to Lindsay Lodge and a pavilion.
