GSSJC CEO Mary Vitek Wins Houston Business Award

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council is proud to announce that Mary Vitek, chief executive officer for GSSJC, is the recipient of the Houston Business Journal C-Suite Award in the Outstanding CEO of a Non-Profit Category.

What an honor!

As CEO for GSSJC, Mary is responsible for one of the largest Girl Scout councils in the nation, which serves over 61,000 girls and nearly 17,000 adults across 26 counties in Southeast Texas. She is responsible for managing the Council's budget, advising the board of directors and maintaining relationships with key constituents in the community.

After joining GSSJC in 1994, Mary did a fantastic job overseeing the Finance and Fund Development functions before being named CEO in 1998.  She has since helped the Council reach many milestones, including the opening of the Program Place for Girls and Goodykoontz Museum of Girl Scout History, a council merger, hosting the 2011 National Council Session/52nd Convention of GSUSA and more.

We are proud of the many accomplishments CEO Mary Vitek has achieved and look forward to many more. Read more about her latest achievement online  and visit gssjc.org for more information on the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council.
