Girl Scouts Send Soldiers a Taste of HOME

As part of the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council Virtual Cookie Share Program, Help Our Military Endure helped GSSJC ship more than 25,000 packages of Girl Scout Cookies to men and women serving on the aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan, stationed in Japan. The cookies will be delivered to approximately 3,000 crew members. This is the third year DHL has partnered with HOME to ship the cookies free-of-charge.

DHL crew members help unload cookies to be delivered to service men and women.
Cookie drop coordinator and HOME president Trudy Duhon stands by to help oversee the shipment.

Each year, members of our local community look forward to receiving America’s favorite cookies, and for decades, the Cookie Program has not only taught girls important life skills, including money management, decision making, people skills, goal setting and business ethics, but the importance of giving back to their communities. Great job, girls!

In 2015, more than 4,500 cases of Girl Scout Cookies (approximately 54,200 packages) were donated to MoMs USA, Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria Co., Ellington Field U.S.O, HOME (Help Our Military Endure), National Guard Armories and the Beaumont Reserve Unit.
