12 Holiday Service Ideas

Troop #109011 put together birthday bags to donate to Boys and Girls Country in honor of Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday.
By the 12th day of December, we're hoping all of our troops participating in the holiday season will have committed to a service project. Whether you're observing Hannukahh, Kwanza, Christmas or just wishing for snow, the holiday season is a great time to give to your community.

Now we know the song goes..."On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me..." But instead of getting this year, let's think about giving!

Here are 12 service project ideas for the holiday season:

  1. Participate in Operation Christmas Child
  2. Organize a toy drive
  3. Collect for a canned food drive
  4. Help a service member through Adopt a Soldier
  5. Decorate a senior center
  6. Sing carols to hospital patients
  7. Animal Toy Drive for a Local Shelter
  8. Make encouraging Christmas cards for your neighbors
  9. Collect camp items for a Girl Scouts in need
  10. Have a garage sale/lemonade stand to raise money
  11. Visit a local children's home and host a Christmas Party
  12. Collect DVD's and Video Games for your local children's hospital

Don’t forget to share your service with us via social media.
