Happy Volunteer Appreciation Month!

Moving into April Girl Scout of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) wants to thank our volunteer family for the tremendous work they do all year long. The month of April we've set apart as Volunteer Appreciation Month, when we (1) honor the time, thought and love our long-time volunteers have dedicated, and (2)  recognize the pledges of our new volunteers--It's going to be a wonderful journey!

We really couldn't do anything without them. And if you're a volunteer, well, we couldn't do it without you. You are the driving force behind Girl Scouts. An ancient African proverb teaches us this truth:

It takes a village to raise a child.

But let's add to that saying, because many of our girls have become too strong, too courageous, too beautiful--inside and out--to be called children:

It take a village to raise young women...

...confident, strong and courageous young women, who will change the world. It takes friends, troop leaders, cookie managers, parents and grandparents, and everyone who has ever taken the pledge. These are the people who believe as Ladybird Johnson said, "Children are likely to live up to what you believe in them."

So, now to address our girls: Your Council believes in you. Your parent's believe in you. Your volunteers believe in you. Your courage inspires our strength, your kindness inspires our love, and we thank you, as GSSJC thanks every volunteer, for being a shining example of courage, confidence, and character onto the world.

This April, don't forget to thank the volunteers in your community and come out to the GSSJC Adult Recognition Event as we honor our Council volunteers who have gone above and beyond during the past membership year. Tickets are now available for purchase.
