January 2014 Media Wrap-up

If you're anything like us, January flew by before you had a chance to blink! We are all about Girl Scout Cookies right now, and we hope you've had a chance to order a few of your favorite flavors and support your daughter, niece or neighbor. (If not, don't worry! Check out the bottom of this post for how to find cookies in southeast Texas.)

January was a busy news month too, with lots of local news outlets excited about the return of Girl Scout Cookies. Here's a little peek at some of the fun we had in January:

PBS NewsHour Weekend recently featured the Girl Scout Cookie Program! Hit play on the video above to see the clip.

We also got up early the day before the local cookie sale kicked off to hang out with Ruben Galvan from KPRC Channel 2. Check out Ruben chatting Girl Scout Cookies with us! You can also watch the Girl Scouts making s'mores with Ruben and the KPRC morning anchors sharing their favorite cookies!

The Houston Press "Eating Our Words" blog shared a review of the two new cookies in GSSJC: Cranberry Citrus Crisp and our pilot cookie, the Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Shortbread.

The Fort Bend Star showed off some of our "Cookie College" attendees. Girls got the chance to learn business skills they're putting in to practice by participating in the largest girl-led business in the world.

The following articles all highlighted the start of the Girl Scout Cookie Program:
Sugar Land Sun
Bellaire/River Oaks/West U Examiner
Fort Bend Star
Texas Non-Profits

As always, thanks to all our local media for support of the Girl Scout Cookie Program! We love seeing so many reporters and news anchors get excited about sharing their favorites with us every year.

Still looking for Girl Scout Cookies? Locally, cookie booths will start popping up across the Council on Feb. 21. If you have a smartphone, grab the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app (available on iPhone or Android) to find the booth closest to you!
