Troop #21195 completes service project for Operation Care Package

To get a jump start on the holiday season, Troop #21159 recently decorated and stuffed stockings for Operation Care Package (OCP) for the second year in a row. OCP makes care packages for service men and women stationed overseas so they have a small gift to open during the holidays.

“The girls made packages to send last year, so this year they decided to stick with the tradition but mix up the gift,” said Troop Leader Amanda C. “They had so much fun decorating stockings.”

The troop’s favorite part of this annual project is talking about how soldiers will react when they get the stuffed stockings. It’s also a good opportunity to remind the girls of the wider connection they have to the world, said Amanda.

“I’m proud of our girls because they are not afraid to work hard on service projects,” she said. “We try to complete 4-5 large ones per year, along with smaller ‘thank you’s’ to our community.”

Next up for Troop #21159: building a structure for an herb garden at their school!
