Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past few weeks below!
Lots of award news to share this week:
Fort Bend Lifestyles & Homes reported Shelby S. earned her Silver Award by creating waiting room activities for children at area doctor's offices.
Ultimate Spring reported Juliana T. earned her Silver Award by creating educational brochures for local animal shelters.
The Bay Area Citizen reported Grace S. earned the Gold Award by hosting a STEM event.
The Pearland Journal reported Briana D. earned the Gold Award by hosting a time management workshop.
The Herald-Coaster reported Julia R. earned the Gold Award by redecorating a room at a women's center.
The Fort Bend Star reported Krisha D. earned the Gold Award by teaching refuges new to America how to live a healthy lifestyle.
In non-award news, today kicks off our Council's Fall Product Program. Good news? You can still participate! This is a great way for troops to earn start-up funds for the year, AND it teaches girls 5 valuable skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. Head here to register or call 713-292-0300 and ask for Product Sales!
And finally - if you're reading this and wondering how YOUR daughter can join in on all this Girl Scouting fun this year...head over to our rally locator site! Plug in your zip code or school to find a sign-up event near you. We can't for you to join Girl Scouting!
Don't forget, you can always submit your own troop news for consideration on the blog by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
