Happy Friday, Girl Scouts! It's been awhile since we've had a media wrap-up (we've been having too much fun sharing camp photos with you) so here's a quick look at what our GSSJC Girl Scouts have been up to in the news over the last couple of weeks.
On the Fourth of July (like we said, it's been awhile!), some of our GSSJC Girl Scouts who participated in a parade in The Woodlands won an award for their float - Best Youth Entry Award - as reported by the Ultimate Woodlands and Woodlands Lifestyles & Homes Magazine (scroll to the bottom of their page to see a photo.) Pretty neat!
Fort Bend Lifestyles & Homes reported Troop #721 went on a cruise to Cozumel this summer using money earned from cookie sales
The Daily News in Galveston reported in July that Troop #26971 volunteered to place flags on soldiers' graves in late May - great service project, Daisies!
The Facts reported on another great service project: Girl Scouts in Troop #27043 recently held a baby shower for the Pregnancy Help Center and donated supplies to new mothers.
The Liberty Vindicator and Fort Bend Star reported on National S'mores Day - which is tomorrow! Check out our s'mores photoblog and be sure to share how you're celebrating this fun holiday by visiting our Facebook page or Tweeting us.
Finally, Ultimate Bellaire reported Girl Scouts Lyla L. and Caroline M. each earned the Gold Award, Girl Scouting's highest honor. Follow the link to learn more about their projects.
We love seeing so many great Girl Scout stories in the news! Know of one we missed or want to share your own troop news for our media wrap-up? Email links to email@example.com for consideration.
