Media Wrap-up: June 8-14

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

The Friendswood Journal reported Troop #1507 recently completed a service project for the Friendswood Animal Control. The Girl Scouts built a fence at the city building so dogs would have a play area.

Girl Scout and archery star Mireille M. continues to make news - The Leader profiled her recent accomplishments.

In GSSJC news, resident camp kicks off this Sunday. Make sure you check out our latest Purse-onality post for the complete list of what to pack and a highlight of some must-have items to make your week at camp great.

Finally, a little more national news - GSUSA announced a partnership with the American Red Cross this week. We're excited all councils in the country will soon have the opportunity to take part in some of the great programs, like first aid and CPR training's our Council already benefits from.

Don't forget, you can always submit your own troop news for consideration on the blog by emailing us at communications@sjgs.org.
