Media Wrap-up: April 27 - May 10

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past few weeks below!

The Friendwood Journal shared Girl Scouts in the Friendswood Service Unit recently held a Father/Daughter dance called the "Belles and Beaus Ball".

The Memorial Examiner, Bellaire Examiner and all reported 25 Gold Award recipients recently received more than $30,000 in collage scholarships from The Emerald Circle.

The Examiner reported Girl Scouts in Beaumont recently honored leaders and volunteers with awards and announced Troop #4298 launched a cycling club.

This morning GSUSA CEO Anna Maria Chavez was a guest on CNBC's show Squawk Box and talked a little bit about what girls learned from the Cookie Program this year. It was on bright and early, so if you missed it, check it out below:

Nightly Business Report also ran a feature on the national Cookie Program, which you can watch here.

Don't forget, you can always submit your own troop news for consideration on the blog by emailing us at
