The Bellaire Examiner shared GSSJC will host its 2013 Success to Significance luncheon next Friday, April 26. The event honors Dr. Mary McIntire, dean of the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University and features a keynote address by Bonnie St. John, the first African-American to win medals in the Winter Paralympic competition. The Tomball Potpourri reported Girl Scouts from a local service unit planted flowers and trees at Juergens Park to help beautify the area. Nice work, ladies!
In Gold Award news, The Vindicator reported Girl Scout Jessica B. recently earned the Gold Award by educating her community about the benefits of SpiritHorse Liberty, a horseback riding facility for individuals with disabilities.
