2013 Success to Significance Luncheon

2012 Success to Significance Luncheon
Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) will host its 2013 Success to Significance Luncheon on Friday, April 26 at the JW Marriott Houston Hotel. The event recognizes women leaders who have used their success to make a significant difference in the community and the future of girls.

This year’s Success to Significance honoree is Dean of the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University, Dr. Mary B. McIntire. Dr. McIntire made history in 1986 when she was named the first female academic dean at Rice University. In 2007, Dr. McIntire became the first woman to serve as president of Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council while also maintaining her career.

The event’s keynote speaker is Bonnie St. John, the first African-American Olympic Ski Medalist, amputee, Rhodes Scholar, former White House official, best-selling author and Girl Scout. St. John will share how she achieved success in the face of physical adversity.

Proceeds from Success to Significance support Girl Scout programs that enable more girls to "dream big" and achieve their goals.
