Media Wrap-up: March 2-22

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past few weeks below!

The Sugar Land Sun reported Girl Scouts in Rainbow Stars Service Unit hosted a "beary" special night for fathers and daughters - their 5th annual Father/Daughter dance. Looks like it was fun!

The Houstonian at Sam Houston State University shared news of the upcoming "Scouts @ Sam" weekend. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts from across Texas are invited to come to the school to camp for the weekend and earn badges. Read the article for more details!

The Atascocita Observer reported Troop #9098 served up banana splits at a local senior living center to celebrate the Girl Scout Birthday on March 12 - yum!

The Bellaire Examiner shared Troop #25199 recently completed their Bronze Award project, the highest honor a Junior Girl Scouts can achieve. The Girl Scouts established a pocket library at Independence Heights Community Center in Houston - click the link for more. Congrats on your accomplishment, ladies!

And The Vindicator in Liberty County shared this great reminder: this is the last weekend to get Girl Scout cookies!

Finally, the Baytown Sun let readers know resident camp registration is open! Click here for more details on resident camp this summer. You can also check out GSSJC's day and twilight camp offerings (and get a sneak peek of the patch!) by clicking here. We can't wait to see you at camp this summer!

Don't forget, you can always submit your own troop news for consideration on the blog by emailing us at communications@sjgs.org.
