Media Wrap-up: Jan. 26 - Feb. 1

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

Houston Family Magazine wrote a great blog about attending Just Desserts. Thank you again to ALL our media judges, chefs, girls and donors who attended this event. Stay tuned to Facebook for more photos.

The West University Examiner reported GSSJC received a $10,000 grant from the UPS Foundation. The grant will help our Council reach more girls who live in underserved areas of Houston with programming that addresses obstacles faced by girls as they strive to achieve academically, emotionally and socially.

The Courier in Conroe reported GSSJC received $4,000 from the Montgomery County Community Foundation to assist girls and leaders who otherwise could not join Girl Scouting.

We're getting excited for National Girl Scout Cookie Day next Friday, February 8. We'll have blog updates every day next week with info on how you can celebrate whether you're a Girl Scout cookie seller or customer! You can learn more about National Girl Scout Cookie Day right here on GSUSA's blog.

Don't forget, you can always submit your own troop news for consideration on the blog by emailing us at communications@sjgs.org.
