Media Wrap-up: Feb. 9-15

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

The Examiner in Beaumont reported Girl Scouts in the area picked up 60,000 cookies this past weekend to deliver to cookie fans. Click the link or check out the image to the right one of our fantastic volunteers shared with us on Facebook.

The Magnolia Potpourri and Cypress Creek Mirror both reported three Girl Scouts recently held a book drive for Lone Star College-CyFair as part of their Silver Award project. Great work, girls!

YourFortBendNews.com reported Girl Scouts and sisters Kalpana and Poonam V. recently completed their Gold Award projects. Kalpana held a "World of Science" workshop, and Poonam hosted a "Dance Around the World" workshop. Congrats on your accomplishment, ladies!

Finally, The Vindicator in Liberty County reported on the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app! If you have an iPhone or Android phone, you can read about how you can find Girl Scout cookies in your area.

Don't forget, you can always submit your own troop news for consideration on the blog by emailing us at communications@sjgs.org.
