Media Wrap-up: Feb. 2-8

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

The Cypress Creek Mirror reported Girl Scout cookies are on the way! Volunteers picked up case after case of Thin Mints, Shortbread and Mango Cremes last weekend at our Mega Drop. Still need Girl Scout cookies? Booth sales start next weekend in our Council - visit girlscoutcookies.org to find your local Cookie Professional.

Change Magazine shared this story about Hannah K., a Girl Scout from Clear Lake, working on her Gold Award project. Hannah is training a dog for Southeastern Guide Dog and is looking forward to completing the project in March.

The big news for anxious summer campers in GSSJC this week is the 2013 Resident Camp Guide is now available! Resident Camp Guides should be arriving in mailboxes all over the Council soon (if they haven't already!) but if you just can't wait, find it online at gssjc.org/residentcamp. We can't wait to see everyone at camp this summer!

And, of course, we can't forget today's big news - it's National Girl Scout Cookie Day! GSSJC Girl Scouts are celebrating by taking part in these activities in their communities. (Click the link for activities you can do at home!) If you Tweet, come join us on Twitter today and share why you'd recommend buying #onemorebox.

Don't forget, you can always submit your own troop news for consideration on the blog by emailing us at communications@sjgs.org.
