For nearly a century, Girl Scouts have gone door-to-door selling Girl Scout cookies, but today customers are on the go and are not always at home when adorable Girl Scouts come knocking. Luckily, “there’s an app for that.”

This year, customers will get some help locating Girl Scout cookies from the organization’s Cookie Finder App, available on iOS and Android platform devices. The application allows customers to find when and where Girl Scout cookies are sold and provides a convenient way for cookie connoisseurs to get theirs hands on these limited-time-only treats.

“The Cookie Finder App is a great tool to help customers locate Girl Scout cookies in their area and gives Girl Scouts more opportunities to learn valuable life skills.” says D’Anne Hawk, Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council’s product sales director. “For many troops, the Cookie Sale is their only fundraiser to raise money for special educational trips or community service projects, so this app will help many girls meet their goals.”

In addition to the application’s cookie locator, users of the application can share their findings on Facebook and Twitter and set calendar reminders on dates cookies will be sold at locations nearest them. The app also gives tips on how to be a good customer, allows users to review informational videos on the 21st century Girl Scout and even vote for their favorite cookie.

The Girl Scout Cookie Sale kicked off January 5 with a new look for the cookie packages and a new cookie, Mango Cr̩mes. Each box of cookies tells the Girl Scout story Рwhat girls are experiencing today, the skills they are learning and the fun they are having. The organization celebrated its first-ever National Girl Scout Cookie Day on February 8 and will begin selling cookies at booths all over southeast Texas February 15 through March 24.
