Media Wrap-Up: Nov. 3-9

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

The El-Campo Leader News shared the news about improvements coming to Camp Myra S. Pryor. The article includes a great rendering of the future Nature Center. We also featured this on the GSSJC blog this week and shared photos from the groundbreaking event. You can view them here. What are you most excited to see with the improvements in Camp Pryor?

Ultimate Memorial reported area Girl Scouts had a fantastic time learning about geoscience at a workshop hosted by IHS. It's so great to see our girls getting the opportunity to explore STEM careers so early!

Finally, several Girl Scout councils in the northeast received damage to their properties during Hurricane Sandy. Girl Scouts of the USA CEO Anna Maria Chavez has approved Girl Scouts raising funds to help these councils rebuild. Please click here for more information on how you and your troop can help out fellow Girl Scouts.

We love reading so many good stories. Have you seen a great article in your local paper? Share it by emailing the link to menzor@sjgs.org.
