Media Wrap-up: Nov. 10-16

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

Community Impact Newspaper shared this great story about Troop #161 gathering and honoring their former leader for all her hard work. We are so lucky to have great Girl Scouts - and great volunteers! - like this in our community.

News 92 FM reported a Tomball Girl Scout troop walked to cure diabetes. The Girl Scouts participated in a local awareness walk in support of two of their troop members. Great work, girls!

HeraldOnline.com reported Girl Scouts from all over Houston attended the Invent It. Build It. event last Saturday. Through a parternship with Society of Women Engineers, ExxonMobil Foundation and Design Squad Nation, more than 300 middle school girls learned about engineering.

Just a reminder: if you are in the Houston area and plan to attend the Houston Holiday Parade next Thursday morning, be sure to look for the GSSJC float! It will be golden (hint hint!) - you can't miss it!

We love reading so many good stories. Have you seen a great article in your local paper? Share it by emailing the link to menzor@sjgs.org.
