Media Wrap-up: Aug. 25-Sept. 7

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

Korrapin, a volunteer from Thailand who we featured on the blog in late July, bid Houston farewell. She's headed back home and made this great video remembering all the fun she had volunteering with our Council! Thanks for all your hard work, Korrapin. We will miss you!

Girl Scout Troop #1808 had a busy summer. The Daily Sentinel (right) shared that these Nacogdoches Girl Scouts honored local veterans and traveled to Houston to see NASA and make 100th anniversary Build-A-Bears.

Girl Scout Kathy M. was featured in the Amazing Place's newsletter for working with the organization to complete her Gold Award project. Congrats Kathy!

Girl Scout Katelyn V. was also recognized by Ultimate Clear Lake for earning the Gold Award. Congrats Katelyn!

Girl Scouts from several Galveston County troops recently participated in a flag ceremony at United Way Galveston County Mainland and their photo is featured on the website's home page! (Scroll halfway down page to view.)

Finally, lots of area publications are sharing local rallies. Need to find a Girl Scout rally in your area? Click here.

We love reading so many good stories. Have you seen a great article in your local paper? Share it by emailing the link to menzor@sjgs.org
