Media Wrap-up: July 2012

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from July below!

The Cypress Creek Mirror ran a feature on Rebeca G. who is currently working on her Gold Award project. Rebeca is using her love of photography to create a photo exhibit at the Barbara Bush Library Aug. 18 - Sept. 15. The GSUSA blog also featured this story!

Ultimate Bellaire announced GSSJC received a $25,000 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation State Giving Program. The grant will help the Council expand its programs for at-risk girls in 36 schools in Houston. 

Ultimate Fort Bend and recognized Girl Scouts Triona S. and Kalpana V. for earning the Silver Award. Triona worked with Fort Bend Rainbow Room and Kalpana worked with United Cerebral Palsy of Houston.
