Media Wrap-up: June 23-29

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

Ultimate Fort Bend reported Troop #19279 created a garden at a local assisted living center to earn their Bronze Award. Congrats on your awesome accomplishment ladies!

Troop #27180 recently visited The National WWII Museum in New Orleans and were featured on the museum's blog - very cool!

YourEastMontgomeryNews.com shared another great Bronze Award project. We mentioned a few weeks ago in our media post that Troops #9378 and #9495 held a Pink Party in honor of a beloved teacher who passed away last fall from leukemia. The Girl Scouts completed their Bronze Award through this party and delivered the items they collect at the part to Memorial Hermann Northeast Cancer Center.

On the GSSJC blog, we shared the fantastic story of the Stefek family and all these ladies have given to GSSJC. We're honored to have them as members in our Council! We also shared information on The Promise Project. Finally, in case you missed it last Friday we started a brand new blog series called "Purse-onality" where we'll get to know our staff, board members and volunteers by sharing what's in their purse (or briefcase, as it may be...) in the coming weeks. Our first post showed off our CEO Mary Vitek's "Purse-onality."

We love reading so many good stories! Have you seen a great article in your local paper? Share it by emailing the link to menzor@sjgs.org.
