Weekly Media Wrap-up: May 19-25

Each week Girl Scouts all over our Council are recognized by local media for their service projects, awards or even just for doing a good deed. Check out our favorites from the past week below!

Troop #7404 was recognized in
the South Belt-Ellington Leader.
In their Summer 2012 issue, Cy-Fair Magazine shared the story of two area multi-generation Girl Scout families.

Ultimate Pearland shared Troop #27563's and Troop #27997's activities around the area, including visiting an animal shelter and KTRK ABC-13.

And if you follow GSUSA's CEO Anna Maria Chavez or GSUSA on Twitter, you probably caught her gearing up for the Indy 500 this week in Indianapolis. Check out the Girl Scout Blog for more on Indianapolis 500 Driver Katherine Legge's support of Girl Scouting - and be sure to cheer her on this weekend!

On our blog this week, we recognized the Gold Award recipients who attended the 2011-2012 Gold Award ceremony last weekend. In all, GSSJC had more than 250 young ladies earn the highest award in Girl Scouting from April 2011 - April 2012 - WOW!

We also shared our afternoon at the George R. Brown Convention Center where the GRB was presented with the Laser Plaque Community Award for their many years of service to GSSJC - including hosting the 52nd National Convention last November!

We love reading so many good stories! Have you seen a great article in your local paper? Share it by emailing the link to
